Going away for a month, a season, or longer? A cat can cope with a week almost anywhere. A long stay is different. Over four, eight or twelve weeks your cat needs a real routine, real rooms to live in, and the same people every day, not a rotating shift and a cage. bbcat is a cage-free boarding home in Oakville run by Abbie and Munib, who are home throughout the day. Cats have stayed with us for 60, 90, 120 nights and longer, our longest for over six months, and settled in as if it were their own house, because in every practical sense it is.

What a long stay looks like here
The first day or two your cat gets a quiet room to decompress, with their own litter, food and a hiding spot. Once they are eating normally and curious about the door, they move into the shared sunny rooms with cat trees, window perches and scratch posts, at their own pace. Meals land at 9 AM, 3 PM and 9 PM every day. Brushing, eye cleaning, individual play and catnip are part of the daily routine, not add-ons. And you get photos and videos every single day, for the whole stay, whether it is day 3 or day 93.
We treat anything over 60 nights as a long-term stay: your cat lives in the shared cage-free rooms with the same routine every day, on a flat monthly rate billed month by month rather than all at once. You provide your cat's usual food, so their diet never changes mid-stay.
Long-stay pricing, in plain numbers
Stays of 14 to 60 nights are booked online at $29.99 a night for your first cat and $24.99 for each additional cat, with 5% off from 14 nights and 10% off from 28. Stays over 60 nights move to a flat monthly rate: $789.99 per cat per month, billed at the start of each month, about 15% less than the nightly rate. Litter, daily play, grooming touch-ups and daily photo and video updates are included; you bring your cat's own food. HST is added on the invoice.

Vet care, medication and the unexpected
Every long-stay booking has an emergency-vet protocol and your vet's details on file before arrival. Daily medication is $3.99 per cat per day and is logged. If anything changes with your cat's health or appetite, you hear about it the same day, with a photo, not in the recap at pick-up. We need Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations current for the full length of the stay, so check the expiry dates before you book a 3-month trip.
Door to door, so the stay starts and ends at your home
The Cat Chauffeur collects your cat at your door and returns them the same way, so you can leave for the airport without a detour: $69.99 per leg across Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Mississauga, $99.99 per leg for Toronto, Etobicoke, Hamilton and Brampton, $149.99 for North York, Scarborough and Vaughan. Up to 2 cats per leg.

Long-stay questions we get asked
Is there a maximum length of stay? No. Our longest guests have stayed over six months. For anything over 60 nights we ask for a short phone call first so we can plan the room and your travel dates.
Do I pay everything up front? No. There is no deposit and nothing is charged until you approve the quote. Stays under 60 nights are paid by card through your invoice link on drop-off day. Stays over 60 nights are billed monthly at the flat rate of $789.99 per cat, so you only ever pay for the month ahead; a final partial month is prorated at $25.48 a night. If your plans change before drop-off, cancelling costs you nothing.
Can my cat have a Private Room for a long stay? The Private Room is for stays under 60 nights. Long-term guests live in the shared, cage-free rooms, where they settle better over weeks and months than in a single room.
What if I need to extend? Tell us as soon as you know. Extra nights are added on a separate invoice at the same rate; if the extension takes you past 60 nights, we switch the remaining time to the monthly rate.
Do I need to bring food? Yes. For long stays you provide your cat's usual food, and we tell you before it runs low. Keeping the same diet is one of the reasons long-stay cats settle so well here.
How will I know my cat is OK? Photos and videos every day, for the whole stay, plus a message any time you want one. Most long-stay families say the daily updates are the part that made the trip possible.
Will my cat forget me? They will not. Cats coming home from long stays here typically sniff the hallway, find their spot, and carry on. We send home their leftover food, their blanket and an honest recap of the stay.
Do you take cats on special diets or senior cats? Yes, with the meal plan you send us. Senior and medicated cats are welcome; tell us about them on the form so we can plan the room and the routine.
